Custom Orders
Ordering a commission from me is very easy, let me take you through the steps from enquiring to being booked in.
1. Get in Contact
Fill out my contact form with your details and a brief description of what you would like and how many subjects in the one drawing, the size of the drawing you would like and if your after a greyscale drawing or coloured.
2. Photos
Next will be to go through the photos you have and pick the best ones to reference from in order for the drawing to fully capture the essence and personality of the subject/subjects. These will need to be clear enough photos to see details (especially for people portraits) and represent the subjects well.
3. Payment
Once we have agreed on the photos the next step is payment. I take all of my payments via invoice and send everyone my Terms Of Service to read through before an invoice is sent to make sure you agree. Once you have had a look through I will start the process for payment and send through an invoice to your email. Payment is taken as 50% up front and the rest once the drawing is complete.
4. Booking in
Once I have received the first part of the payment I will put you down on my books as booked in with first amount paid and give you the date I will start your drawing and how long roughly it will take to complete it. Updates will be sent along the way so you may see the process as the drawing progresses.
Prints of your drawing
Sometimes one drawing just isn't enough and for some families especially if your pet is much loved by many you might wish that you could have copies to gift to family that also cherish your pets. Great news is now you can!! I now offer high quality prints of my drawings in sizes as small as A5 and as large as A3 that you can purchase along with your commission and I can send in the same package as your commission so you have the original but you also have copies too and you don't have to order more then one drawing.

Best photos for a drawing
The best photos are the ones that capture the personality and essence of the subjects I am drawing. For pets especially of them looking straight on at the camera I find work the best. Close up not far away and crisp and clear so I can see details and markings clearly. It is best to take these photos outside and in natural lighting. If your pet doesn't like to sit still for photos try a favourite toy or a treat and get them to sit, get down to their level and hold up toy/treat and snap some photos as they look directly at you.
For people portraits and drawings featuring people and children the photos must be clear. I must be able to see details and facial features clearly as capturing people and getting them correct are a challenge. One wrong placement of your pencil and it can look like a totally different person so having clear images is a must for me to draw people.
The Process
Once I start your portrait I will send you updates along the way from start to finish.
This is the perfect time to let me know if you need anything changed/adjusted before the final drawing is complete.
Once the drawing is finished you will get one last photo before the remaining payment is due then I send them off to you.
Timeframe
My drawings can take me anywhere from 2 weeks - 5 months or more depending on the size and complexity of the drawing. Generally a 5 x 7" will take me around 10 days from start to finish, 9 x 12" 3 - 4 weeks and large drawings 1 - 5 months. Sometimes I might finish a drawing before the given timeframe but I always allow more time so I don't feel rushed. I also will be working on other drawings booked in before yours which is why I have a booking list and dates that I give you once you book in your drawing so don't expect an update until the given date.
If you need a drawing done for a specific date like a Birthday or Christmas please do get in touch at least 3 months before the date its needed by to make sure I will have enough time to complete it by the given timeframe. December is my most busy time of year so if your thinking ahead for Christmas have it booked in from July - September don't wait until November December as I won't have bookings left by then.
Prints Of Your Drawing
Along with your custom pet portrait you can now order high quality prints of your original drawing! These are perfect for gifting to family and friends who adore your pet just as much as you do.
These will be in 3 sizes and they are all printed with my high quality Epson 8550 Art printer that I use for all of my prints including prints of my originals. They all come with a Certificate of Authenticity as an original print from me and are printed on Epson high quality archival paper.

Kindness Portraits
Honouring love one portrait at a time
Sometimes art is more than just art, it's a moment of comfort, a memory brought back to life and a reminder that our beloved pets and loved ones are always with us.
I believe everyone deserves that, no matter their situation. And that is why I quietly gift a limited number of Kindness Portraits each year. These are free custom drawings of my choice of medium and size for families who have lost a beloved pet or loved one but can't afford a commissioned piece.
This project is my way of giving back and keeping the love and kindness alive in the world with one portrait and one story at a time.
How it works:
I select a small number of Kindness Portraits each year, this is usually around 1 per month.
I choose families through nominations, local community groups, pet groups or just when I see a story that really moves me.
These portraits are 100% free, they are a gift from my heart to yours.
When you commission a paid portrait from me, you are helping make this possible so thank you for supporting my art and my mission of kindness. I believe this world needs a lot more of it and I know this will help so many people.
